Our commitment: Actions speak louder than words.

As far as we are concerned, a company’s role is to take responsibility – for its customers, for its employees and for the common good of us all. In addition to meeting economic needs and environmental requirements, sustainable company management also has to have a social dimension. We are absolutely convinced of this.

That is why we don’t just spout empty words but are committed to taking action. We support local charitable projects and organizations in the vicinity of our sites. Our key focus is helping disadvantaged children and teenagers, and playing an active role in careers and educational guidance initiatives.

Below are a few examples of our commitment to social responsibility:

Instead of buying Christmas gifts for customers, we donated money in 2012 and 2013 to the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk e.V. in Berlin, a children’s charity.

We support our employees who demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility. Staff initiatives include a charity raffle organized by our trainees, the proceeds of which are donated to Olgäle-Stiftung für das kranke Kind e.V. in Stuttgart, among other organizations.

In Leipzig we support Ferienland e.V. This organization enables children and teenagers growing up in disadvantaged areas to take a holiday in spite of their families’ limited budgets.

We also regard it as our duty to support career guidance initiatives that give young people a good start in their vocational training. Amongst other initiatives, we participate in the “Schau rein! – Die Woche der offenen Unternehmen in Sachsen”, a week when companies in Saxony open their doors to young people.

Our commitment extends to university students as well. We are a partner in the mentoring programme run by the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology and cooperate closely with the plant planning, visualization and simulation departments.
