Only safe work is good work.

Ensuring the highest safety standards.

At SCHOLPP, the health and safety of our employees and our customers, and the protection of their goods, is a top priority. This includes ensuring that our work does not have negative effects on third parties. To help us adhere to our own high standards on a day-to-day basis, we are probably the only company in our industry to employ a full-time safety engineer – a post we created in 1997. This person is the central point of contact for all safety issues. In addition, the engineer conducts training sessions, supervises project teams on site, assesses risk, monitors compliance with safety regulations and is on hand to offer our customers expert advice. Thanks to our systematic approach to safety, the number of accident-free hours increases each year. Between 2006 and 2008, the average number of accident-free hours rose by 159 per cent.

In 2001, SCHOLPP voluntarily introduced a management system for safety, health and environmental management (SGU). For us, the health and safety of all our employees and protecting the environment are just as important as the quality of our work and our business success. Our principles are clearly defined in our management system and shared and supported by our entire workforce, from top to bottom.

The majority of the checks we perform on our extensive pool of equipment are carried out by our own dedicated specialist team. Our chains and slings, forklift trucks and similar devices, safety harnesses, ladders, electric equipment, gantry cranes and other lifting devices are inspected internally on an ongoing basis. All other tests, for example for fall protection devices, are carried out by external specialists. A total of 11,000 items are checked in line with the relevant standards at least once a year.
