Installation of a sheetfed offset press

If a printed product is to attract attention and have a pleasant feel in the hand, high print quality is a must. This was the challenge facing a north German web-to-print mailing service provider. At its site in Schwerin, the company prepares personalized letters and envelopes for dispatch – and, thanks to SCHOLPP, it now has a premium-quality printing press at its disposal.

Our installation specialists installed a Heidelberger large-format sheetfed offset press in Schwerin. Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG is the world’s leading manufacturer of sheetfed offset presses and develops comprehensive solutions for the print media industry.

A new sheetfed offset press complete with output area, five printing units and feeder were offloaded, positioned and installed for the mailing service provider. In the process, the SCHOLPP professionals moved components weighing up to 31 tonnes each. Components were unloaded using a mobile crane and transported into the building using transport rollers and a forklift truck. The press measuring 3.5 x 3.5 x 10 metres was positioned in the printing facility with millimetre precision using a TG 180 hydraulic lifting gantry. Then we took care of packing and shipping the transport equipment.

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG is one of our long-standing customers. As its service specialist, SCHOLPP was able to perform this task to the usual high standards we set ourselves. Establishing this kind of long-term cooperation not only brings commercial benefits for our customers – their internal organization is also strengthened through efficient installation routines tailored to the specific needs of their operations.
