Tool move-in into the cleanroom
SCHOLPP is a logistics and rigging partner for the semiconductor industry and the high-quality sector
Semiconductors have changed the world. Hardly any invention in recent decades has been as important for the rapid breakthrough of innovations and technologies as the microchip. No modern electrical or electronic application and no development would be conceivable without semiconductors.
The megatrends of automation, digitalization and networking are accelerating the innovation and fusion of technologies. More and more high-tech products are being manufactured in highly sensitive systems that require cleanroom status. These specialized companies operate in highly dynamic markets. This has also significantly changed the requirements for production.

Trends
Diversity, minimization, safety
The future of the cleanroom is characterized by greater flexibility, more modularity and further development of technology. As a service provider for tool move in, SCHOLPP is a partner that actively supports all of its customers' movements, both now and in the future.
The first trend is the multiplication of possible uses. Various user industries now operate clean rooms, not just the classic users such as semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturers. Growth drivers in this market are stricter standards for the production, processing and packaging of products, e.g. in the pharmaceutical industry.
A second trend is minimizing of the influence of people in critical areas. This is done on the one hand through automation and robotics, and on the other hand through production in clean mini-environments or in ballrooms, the large, ultra-clean factory halls.
SCHOLPP: The inventor of the Cleanroom Move-In ®
Since 1998, SCHOLPP has been supporting the professional hook-up for internationally renowned companies in high-tech environments of technical cleanrooms, clean rooms and ultra-clean rooms with its Cleanroom Move-In® service module.
Our clients are producers of semiconductor and microelectronic products, system manufacturers who produce machines for semiconductor products, and service providers who test electronic products under cleanroom conditions. Other customers can be found in industries that manufacture products, components and systems under cleanroom conditions: the automotive industry, the food industry, medical technology, the optical industry and the pharmaceutical industry.
Our competence
CMI modules: Our expertise is cleanroom environments
New trends require new ways to remain successful. And that is exactly where we come in with our know-how for Cleanroom Move-In® (CMI). We relocate our customers' highly sensitive and valuable production systems with a steady hand. We are the inventors of Cleanroom Move-In® and are therefore a leading provider of inteprated solutions. Our transport processes, which have been specially developed in many projects, meet all requirements for cleanroom production up to cleanroom class 1.
Cleanroom Move-In® is characterized by precisely defined performance and a structured approach. SCHOLPP provides its clients with a complete service that is divided into clear process stages and service modules:

Onsite logistics
We create transport studies and solution concepts for individual machines, production lines and complete new fab construction projects. Exact planning and coordination of delivery guarantee efficient projects just in time or just in sequence.

Move-In
Before we move the tools to be transported, we prepare the floors along the transport route. With stainless steel plates laid without joints, a safe, contamination-free and vibration-free move-in and rigging of all tools is achieved.

Unloading and unpacking
We bring the right lifting and transport equipment with us depending on the conditions on site: aluminum gantries, chassis systems, air cushions, forklifts, beams. The packaging material is carefully unpacked and disposed of at the dock or delivery area.

Positioning
We use transport and lifting technology as well as air cushion equipment to position the machines and systems precisely. Complete documentation using sensitive measuring technology records machine movement and ambient temperature.

Cleaning
After removing the protective films of the dock and of the airlock, we carry out a professional cleaning. Our approach is strictly based on the customer's defined cleanroom protocol. We only use customer-specific cleaning materials.

Final positioning
We use modern measuring technology to precisely align all tools and systems at their final location according to the technical specifications. Adjusting to the millimeter requires an exact interaction between 2D or 3D measuring technology and our technicians.
Process management
Forward-looking. Prudent. Precautionary.
Dock planning and dock design
We advise on the design and technical equipment of the delivery zone during the construction phase of Fabs. This ensures that the packaged machines can be unloaded properly and safely brought in on a long-term basis:
- Airlock function: temperature-controlled room with roller door
- Transfer tool: integrated roller conveyor for air freight containers
- Alternative: mobile scissor lift table with rollers
- Unpacking: crane runaway and forklift for lifting and safely unpacking the tools
Interim storage and logistics buffer area
When building a new plant, expanding a plant or converting a plant, it is advisable to set up a temperature-controlled intermediate storage facility. This serves as a logistics buffer in the event that many machines are delivered within a short period of time.
Delivery and staff planning
We bring our expertise in planning logistics chains to your plant construction. Thanks to our many years of experience, we can always act with foresight and guarantee smooth processes:
- Logistics solutions: creation of individual move-in plans
- Coordination: optimization of delivery plans
- Meetings: well in advance, accompanying daily or weekly during the project
- Personnel planning: provision of manpower as needed
Partner for high-tech environments
Cleanroom Move-In®: Following every movement.
With our Cleanroom Move-In® (CMI) concept, we put together a versatile service package with which we can provide our customers with complete support during tool: move-in moving in and positioning sensitive systems of all types, or transfer or removal them. Exact calculation, project planning and scheduling using move-in studies are also part of the range of services.
In the CMI division, we bundle all our specialist knowledge on the cleanroom sector. We know how to confidently manage the high demands of the move-in process. It is important to observe the customer's specific cleanroom protocol and to operate professionally in various cleanroom classes and cleanroom settings.
Our experienced and technically trained staff reliably implements vibration-free transport. Here we use high-quality antistatic special tools, particle-free dollies made of stainless steel and cleanroom-compatible floor coverings. Cleanroom Move-In® guarantees the standardized quality of all services and at the same time the greatest possible adaptability to the customer's process.
Technical solutions
The right equipment sophisticatedly used
Cleanroom Move-In® relies on the professionalism, expertise and steady hand of our experienced rigging. This is the only way to use the right technical equipment efficiently in every project. We have all the cleanroom-compatible tools needed in a rigging and installation project. We cover the transport route with stainless steel plates so that our high-quality, particle-free stainless steel dollies with antistatic rollers can move precisely.
In very special move-in conditions, we transport machines vibration- and shock-free using air cushion technology. Aluminum gantries are used for final positioning. Precise control tools are used for all transports and all movements in the cleanroom. The SCHOLPP team wears cleanroom protective equipment in accordance with the customer's requirements during work.
Safe handling with measuring devices and data lockers
We record all movements during the transport process. Detectors and data loggers record accelerations, shocks and inclinations. Based on the sensitive shock sensors technologyand temperature control, we provide proof that we work flawlessly under controlled conditions. With this seamless documentation, we ensure transport without harmful shocks and vibrations.
Inspection and maintenance of all technical devices
All equipment and our hoists are regularly inspected and cleaned by expert SCHOLPP employees. This includes load tests, visual inspection of all lifting devices and deep cleaning with cleaning agents compatible for clean rooms. Our specialist team carries out an annual accident prevention inspection (UVV).
SCHOLPP equipment: heavy-duty air cushions
Special tasks, special technology
Challenging tasks are best accomplished with special equipment. This is a special hallmark of SCHOLPP. Anyone who awards us can successfully implement their project. We find a safe and economical solution for every move-in situation.
Moving loads vibration-free with air cushion technology
The task: transporting a highly sensitive lithography system, which was delivered in RGX containers, into the clean room.
The challenge: the cleanroom airlock was on the upper floor and the transport route ran through a narrow production area.
The solution: vibration-free transport was carried out using air cushions, which maneuvered the system precisely to its final location.
How air cushions work
The air cushion system works with a thin film of compressed air that lifts and supports the load. As a result, there is almost no friction between the floor and the load. Loads can be moved in all directions with a slight push. The load's center of gravity is centered above the transport system. This ensures good stability.
