Dismantling and final assembly of two extruder lines

KraussMaffei Berstorff offers a wide range of extrusion technologies and roller systems for the preparation and processing of plastics and rubber. SCHOLPP has been its partner on projects at a number of locations. At Polimeri in Dunkirk (France), SCHOLPP dismantled and reassembled two complete KE 500 extruder lines for repairs. Together with the customer, the SCHOLPP specialists drew up a detailed plan for every step in the process down to the last turn of a screw, including a hazard analysis and a health and safety plan. The SCHOLPP team dismantled the two extruder lines into their component parts – the gearbox, thrust bearing, granulator, cylinder and screw conveyor – in compliance with strict safety regulations. Once the components had been refurbished, they were reassembled, precisely aligned and commissioned.
