Installation of steel stairways

Escalators and moving walkways help keep people mobile in busy urban centres, and SCHOLPP helps put them in place. The company used its expertise in moving escalators and walkways to manoeuvre four 15-metre steel stairways – each weighing 40 tonnes – into the City Tunnel in Leipzig on behalf of flz Stahl- und Metallbau Lauterbach GmbH. The four-kilometre City Tunnel is an underground railway connection linking Leipzig central station and the Bayerische Bahnhof in the south of city. Once the escalators and walkways were inside, they were guided along the tunnel to their final destination at Leipzig central station. The SCHOLPP specialists tackled this job with lifting gantries, heavy-load saddle supports, a mobile crane and their engineering expertise.
