Press relocation and modernization

SCHOLPP and PTC demonstrated the benefits of their partnership in impressive style at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen by relocating a press and simultaneously technically modernizing it. In the first phase, an 800-tonne tryout press for testing production tools was dismantled, put into temporary storage and reassembled and commissioned just-in-time at its new location within the plant. The press, now more than 20 years old, was extensively refurbished and its design modified during the one-month storage period. Among other modifications, PTC refurbished the ram and replaced various safety components to bring them up to the current state of the art. PTC designed and installed a completely new lubrication unit with new air vessels for the lubrication supply system.
