Relocation of several milling and machining centers
Offset work prevents production stoppage
Quality, adherence to schedules, reliability – these are the keywords used in IWR Industrieservice GmbH’s advertising. Founded in 1992, the company, previously based in Thalheim in the Erzgebirge region, specializes in all manner of machining services.
To address growing space requirements, IWR had a new plant built in the neighboring town of Grünhain-Beierfeld. SCHOLPP had already completed several projects for IWR GmbH in the past. Now the installation specialist was tasked with the move, as well as with dismantling and reinstalling several milling and machining centers.
A special challenge in this project was the offset work schedule: to prevent a production stoppage, the individual machining centers could only be dismantled and reassembled in succession. The top priority in planning was therefore the logical dismantling of the large components. A total of three Zayer machining centers were transported, dismantled, and reinstalled. The weight of the individual components was up to 30 tonnes.
