Transport of tanks

Gastronomy: Unloading and moving in four tanks

„In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus“: who hasn't heard this famous German song? The Hofbräuhaus is one of the most internationally recognised restaurants in Germany. Every year, thousands of guests from all over the world come to one of the many events and enjoy Bavarian beer. Catering for so many guests requires a lot of technical equipment. SCHOLPP was commissioned to assist with the transport of new tank.

On the agenda was unloading and installation of four new tanks in the basement of the historic building. With a capacity of 12,000 litres and dimensions of five metres in length by two metres in diameter, the equipment has to be moved sensitively. The space for manoeuvring was very limited: a narrow opening in the building, lowering into the basement, internal transport via narrow and low cellar corridors. The SCHOLPP project management team was the only one of the requested service providers to find a technical solution for manoeuvring.

The 1.5 to 2 tanks had to be handled with high precision. Extensive experience in tank transport, a telescopic forklift truck that is easy to manoeuvre and a powerful TG 120 lifting frame with chain hoists formed the framework that made this job a success. Within five days, all four tanks were moved in and precisely positioned at their final location.
